Ballina Salmon Festival
Ballina welcomes you and yours to join us in our annual Salmon Festival in July. The ten-day programme is a family-centred line-up that has something for young, old and everyone in between!
Siamsa Sraide Swinford
Siamsa Sraide Swinford is a summer street festival with open-air Ceili, Dancing, Heritage Day and International Busking Competitions. There are also history walks talks and poetry recital. This is an annual event held every July.
Céide Fields, Ballycastle, on the Ballina to Belmullet Road
The Céide Fields are the oldest known field systems in the world, over five and a half millennia old. It is a unique Neolithic landscape of world importance, which has changed our perception of our Stone Age ancestors.
The Moy Valley

Tumble Jungle in Ballina town is a state of the art indoor play centre. At 13,500 sq ft, it is the largest in the West of Ireland.
Waterpoint in Enniscrone is an all-weather Aqua Leisure Centre. It has a fantastic water slide, kiddie's fun pool with interactive features and 4-lane, 16.5m heated swimming pool, a health suite and an activity area which can be made available for conferences and other public and community activities.
Belleek Woods, Ballina is situated along the banks of the river Moy directly across the water from the Quay village. It is one of the largest urban forests in Europe comprising of 200 acres of woodlands and trees up to 300 years old. It is a peaceful haven of up to 6 miles of natural forest pathways, two of which are along the banks of the River Moy.
Cultural and Heritage
We are within a short drive of many historical sites including; Moyne Abbey (3.5 kilometres from Killala Town), Rosserk Abbey (4 kilometres from Killala Town) and Killala Round Tower.
Beaches and Coastline
The spectacular and diverse nature of North Mayo's coastline has long attracted a wide variety of visitors all year round. Beaches such as Lacken Strand, Ross Strand and Enniscrone just over County Sligo border have been awarded Blue Flags from the EU as a mark of the cleanliness of their waters.
Museums
The National Museum of Country Life, Turlough is just a 15 minute drive from Healys.
Davitt Museum, Straid is just a 15 minute drive from Healy's.
The Foxford Woollen Mills continues to thrive to this day with local craftspeople producing the World Famous Foxford Rugs, Blankets, and Tweed.
Ballinrobe Racecourse is located in the picturesque surrounds of Lough Carra. There are eight meetings held here throughout the summer months of May, June, July and August.
Lacken Strand were revived in 1997 after a 44 year lapse, carrying on a century old tradition of horse racing on Lacken Strand.
Galway Races Adrenalin-pumping action, heart-stopping finishes and breath-taking fashion; you are at the Galway Races. Situated on the outskirts of Galway city, in the West of Ireland, the Galway Race Festivals are world renowned.

Moore Hall Forest Walk located on the shores of Lough Carra near Ballinrobe.
The Foxford Way is 86km long, with the Ox Mountains on one side and the distinctive Nephin Mountain on the other; it is one of Mayo's finest walks.
The Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail stretches from Balla on the N60 ( Castlebar to Claremorris road) , westward to Murrisk at the foot of Croagh Patrick on the shores of Clew Bay.
Castlebar International Four Days Walks where you can join walkers from more than 21 countries to walk, talk and to discover and share the bogs, rivers, mountains and unspoilt beauty of the west of Ireland.
