Healys is situated on the shores of Lough Cullen / Conn and beside the world renowned River Moy. Boasts as the best Salmon River in Europe. Both lakes are world renowned for wild Salmon, Brown Trout, Pike and Perch Fishing.

The fishing on Lough Cullen / Conn is free and we have access to boats & ghillies on both lakes. From the first spring salmon in March, action can be found right through the fishing season to October.

In May 1999 we saw the launch of the Healy Cup which was a great success and this is an annual event, held on the third Sunday of May, each year. All participants are almost guaranteed a prize, even with no fish (fun day). All are welcome.

Fishing Season, Salmon from 1st of February to 30th of September and Trout from 15th of February to 10th of October. Salmon Licences available at Hotel. For the Fisherman/woman we provide packed lunches.

(1) We have a small range of fishing tackle for sale in the Hotel.
(2) Experienced Ghillies are on hand and fishing tuition is available.
(3) River Fishing is also widely available in the area with the Gem in the Crown - The World renowned River Moy.  
(4) Sea Fishing , Killala , Ballina and Westport all about 30 minutes away, approved Bord Fáilte charter boats available.

Lough Conn

On the week ending 27th July 2003, 80 Trout were reported caught.
 The heaviest Trout:
David Dinsmore, Laherdane   3.5 lbs
  Also had 7 other fish over 2 days mainly on the "Royal Wulff" and "Klinkhammers".
  John Walsh & Joe Quinn had 20 trout between them, mainly on "Sedge Pattern".

Salmon and Trout fishing is free on Lake and some rivers but you do require a State Licence to fish for Salmon.
On most rivers fishing for Salmon you require a permit, which can be arranged by the Hotel.
